About

Croydon gain Gold standard

The Club General Committee are pleased to inform members that the Club has been accepted as Gold members of the Jack Petchey Achievement Awards Scheme designed to recognise the contribution to the Club of its 11 to 25 year old members. Under the Scheme each month these members will have the opportunity to nominate one of their colleagues as an Award winner. The winner receive a framed certificate before the end of each month and will decide how the £200 monthly Award should be spent by the Club. Annually in July there will be a medallion presentation event at the Club when the Award winners will each receive a medallion from a representative of the Jack Petchey Foundation in front of their peers, parents and friends.

In addition to the monthly awards of £200 there will be the opportunity for the young members of the Club to nominate a Leader Award winner for approval by the Jack Petchey Foundation. The Award is worth £1,000 and the winner may nominate how the Club should spend the Award.

The Club will prepare a wish list of things that would help it develop youth rugby (standard club running expenses are excluded from the wish list) from which Award winners can make their choice.

The Club are indebted to the Jack Petchey Foundation management for the time their Grants Officer spent with the Club Rugby Performance Committee and for facilitating its successful application. Members may find out more about the Jack Petchey Foundation on their website http://www.jackpetcheyfoundation.org.uk
